Mastic Asphalt Roofing
Mastic asphalt roofing is a seamless waterproofing covering which can be applied to many types of surfaces such as horizontal, vertical & horizontal and is suitable for roof constructions where the roof deck/timber is adequately strengthened. As mastic asphalt is in molten form when applied, it can easily be dressed around rooflights, pipes and other protrusions without any difficulty. Mastic asphalt is heated to a temperature of 210 °C (410 °F) and is spread in layers to form an impervious barrier about 20 millimetres (0.8 in) thick. It is usually laid in 2 coats on an isolating membrane of black sheathing felt. If there are any insufficient falls on the roof, the mastic asphalt can be laid to eliminate standing water. It is the ideal material for concrete, block and beam, bison beam, woodwool slab and suitably constructed timber roofs. A1MAZING Roofing Services Ltd’s experienced tradesmen have used mastic asphalt on many domestic properties, multi storey flats, factories, office buildings and schools for more than 35 years. Mastic asphalt roofing can also be overlaid on an existing sound and tested roof structure where the cost to strip up the whole roof may be too prohibitive. On completion of the roofing works and to protect the mastic asphalt from ultra violet degradation and heat build up, a solar reflective paint finish is usually applied.
Mastic Asphalt Flooring
A1MAZING Roofing Services Ltd carry out internal flooring to various grades of asphalt from light duty for domestic floors & conservatories to heavy duty for factories, schools and many other industrial uses. Mastic asphalt can be used as self-finished flooring or an underlay for carpet/ carpet tiles/ wood finish or factory cardene flooring. An asphalt floor can be polished or sand rubbed as a finished floor. Cost effective mastic asphalt flooring with its hard wearing and damp-proofing qualities will outlast almost every other type of flooring material.
Mastic Asphalt Tanking
Tanking is a term that’s used when asphalt is formed to completely seal a void or area to keep moisture/water out or in a tank to keep liquid in. It is used in basements, lift shaft bases or anywhere where the adjacent ground is higher. It is also used to line bund to tanks etc. Mastic asphalt tanking is a seamless system which creates a durable continuous permanent waterproofing lining when applied to foundations, floors, walls etc. More often than not mastic asphalt tanking is installed by A1MAZING Roofing Services Ltd underground where water or damp constitutes a problem.
Mastic asphalt is a natural material for tanking; it provides a waterproofing membrane for protecting areas against the penetration of ground or subsoil water. Tanking will not degrade and will provide many decades of trouble free service. It’s seamless qualities and proven track record for success make it the natural choice for most waterproofing situations, these can be swimming pools, outdoor fish pools, basements, lift shafts and cellars.
